House of Councillors to Host 10th International Parliamentary Forum on Social Justice

Rabat: The 10th International Parliamentary Forum on Social Justice will be held next Monday, at the initiative of the House of Councillors, in partnership with the Economic, Social, and Environmental Council (CESE).

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, this edition will be under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, focusing on the theme “Social justice in a changing world: the need for equitable policies for more resilient societies.” This theme reflects a shift in the perception of social justice from mere resource redistribution to a crucial element in rebuilding social and economic balance and enhancing societal resilience through equitable, inclusive, and sustainable public policies that can address emerging challenges.

The Forum will concentrate on three main areas. The first area will explore “Social justice in the context of global change,” analyzing international economic and financial trends, the impact of climate change, digital transformation and divide, and new forms of dispa
rity and vulnerability.

The second area will delve into “Equity and social protection: inclusive policies for resilient societies,” focusing on universal social protection, territorial justice, targeting vulnerable populations, financing social policies, and examining successful international practices.

The third area will emphasize “Parliamentary governance of social justice: legislation, oversight, and impact assessment,” focusing on the role of parliaments in law-making, monitoring public programs’ effectiveness, evaluating the impact of social and territorial policies, and providing data and insights to support parliamentary decision-making.

The Forum aims to develop strategic recommendations for fair and sustainable social policies, propose operational parliamentary mechanisms to enhance equity and social protection, strengthen international partnerships, and establish monitoring and evaluation systems to achieve a tangible social impact.
