Rabat: The Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), Salim Bin Mohammed Al-Malik, praised on Monday in Rabat the many initiatives launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in the social sphere.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, speaking at the opening of the International Parliamentary Forum on Social Justice, Al-Malik stressed that Morocco is a ‘shining model of stability, unity and cohesion,’ welcoming the Sovereign’s far-sighted vision of social justice.
ICESCO monitors the efforts made in member countries and draws on successful experiences to consolidate the principle of equality, he added, noting the importance of social justice as a fundamental pillar of national policies.
He added that justice in its various dimensions is ‘a collective and joint responsibility’ of all stakeholders, believing that the regular holding of this forum constitutes a token of credibility and proof of a sense of responsibility.
The head of ICESCO pointed out that the issue of social justice remains a priority for public policy, calling for the adoption of more equitable development strategies, inspired by Islamic values of mutual aid and solidarity with vulnerable groups.
