Casablanca: The inmate identified as Z.K., who recently passed away at the Ibn Rochd University Hospital, had been battling renal failure and cardiovascular disease, as disclosed by the administration of Ain Sebaa 1 prison.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the prison administration has issued a clarification addressing the rumors circulating on social media, which alleged that Z.K.’s death resulted from medical negligence. The administration stressed that these claims are unfounded and clarified that Z.K. was in pre-trial detention at Ain Sebaa 1 prison on charges related to forming a criminal gang, assaults, and drug trafficking.
The statement further clarified that Z.K. died on February 20, 2026, at CHU Ibn Rochd, where he was admitted on February 2, 2026, due to his existing medical conditions of renal failure and cardiovascular disease.
