Islamic-Christian Commission urges UN General Assembly to boycott and isolate Israeli occupation

JERUSALEM: The Islamic-Christian Commission for the Defense of Jerusalem and Holy Sites urged the UN General Assembly to boycott and isolate the Israeli occupation state, and to take effective legal measures to hold Israeli war criminals accountable.

In a statement on Tuesday, coinciding with the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Commission emphasized the need to deliver justice for the Palestinian people and called for proactive measures to urge the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue warrants for the prosecution of Israeli war criminals.

The Commission stated that achieving justice for Palestine should not be contingent on the political calculations of major powers. It emphasized that the international community’s failure to hold Israel accountable has allowed it to evade punishment and continue committing acts of genocide against the Palestinian people.

It urged the international community to elevate Palestine’s status and ensure its full membership in the United Nations a
nd its various bodies.

The Commission further urged the UN General Assembly to establish the necessary mechanisms to implement its resolution calling for an end to the Israeli occupation of the occupied Palestinian Territory, including Jerusalem.
