Israel orders demolition of shops in Silwan

Israeli occupation forces handed notices today to a number of Palestinians in the occupied Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan demanding demolition of several shops in the neighborhood owned by the Palestinian family of Abbasi. Under Israel's discriminatory policies, most construction permits filed by Palestinian landlords in occupied Jerusalem are rejected by the all-Israeli municipality, leaving the indigenous Palestinian population of the city with no choice but to build without an Israeli permit. Also in occupied Jerusalem, Israeli occupation forces stormed the neighborhood of Jabal Al Mukaber and arrested two Palestinians after raiding and searching their homes.
