Israeli colonist set fire to agricultural lands in Ramallah-governorate village

RAMALLAH: An Israeli colonist Tuesday evening set fire to agricultural lands in the village of al-Janiya, west of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to a local source. Ayed Mazloum, a villager, told WAFA that a colonist from the nearby encroaching Talmon colony, established on village lands, threw a Molotov cocktail at cultivated lands in the eastern area of the village, setting large tracts of cultivated land ablaze. Mazloum estimated the burned lands to be tens of dunams, planted with olive and fig trees as well as with grape, and belonged to several families from the village. He pointed out that since 7 October 2023, the occupation forces and colonists have been preventing the villagers from accessing those lands, noting that anyone who approaches his land is at the risk of being shot at, noting that he himself was shot by the colonists, but survived. He elaborated that the villagers are constantly subjected to harassment and prevented from harvesting their olive groves by the colonists , who graze their cattle on the formers' cultivated land.
