Israeli forces assault international activist during olive harvest in Hebron

Israeli occupation forces assaulted a female international activist today while she was volunteering to harvest olives with local residents in the village of Susiya, located in the Masafer Yatta area, south of Hebron.

Jihad al-Nawaj’a, a member of the Susiya village council, reported that the forces used batons to beat the activist, who was participating in the olive picking alongside villagers near the nearby colonial settlement of Susiya. The soldiers also prevented the locals from continuing their harvest.

The activist declined to be transported by Israeli ambulances and was instead taken by the Palestinian Red Crescent for treatment at Abu al-Hussein al-Qasim Hospital in the neighboring town of Yatta.

Al-Nawaj’a highlighted ongoing daily attacks by the Israeli military and colonists on the property and olive harvesters in the village, asserting that these actions aim to forcibly displace residents from their land to benefit colonial expansion.
