Israeli occupation forces suppressed on Friday the weekly anti-colonial demonstration in the village of Kafr Qaddoum, east of Qalqilya, leading to confrontations, according to local sources.

Sources told WAFA that Israeli forces attacked the peaceful demonstrators with stun grenades and tear gas canisters to disperse them, leading to confrontations. However, no injuries or detentions were reported.

The occupation forces also raided several houses in the village.

Demonstrators denounced the crimes of the Israeli occupation and its ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem.

Since July 2011, the villagers have been holding a weekly peaceful march to demand the reopening of the main road to the village, which was closed by Israel during the Second Intifada in 2003, as well as to protest against colonial expansion plans.

The road connected Kafr Qaddoum with nearby villages and towns, making it easier for residents to access their land
and homes. Its closure has significantly hindered the movement of citizens, forcing them to take longer, bypass routes to meet their daily needs.
