Israeli forces commence road construction on land of Bethlehem-governorate village

BETHLEHEM: Israeli occupation forces today commenced the construction of a road on lands belonging to the Wadi Fukin village, west of the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem, according to a local source.

Ibrahim Hroub, Head of Wadi Fukin Village Council, said that the occupation forces initiated the construction of a road on large swaths of land at the Khallet Thabet, south of the village, for colonial purposes.

There are over 700,000 Israeli colonists living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.

Israel’s nation-state law, passed in July 2018, enshrines Jewish supremacy, and states that building and strengthening the colonies is a ‘national interest.’
