Israeli forces detain Palestinian, injure another in Jerusalem camp

JERUSALEM: Israeli occupation forces Tuesday evening detained a Palestinian and injured another in the Shufat refugee camp, north of the occupied city of Jerusalem, according to local sources.

They said that the occupation stormed several stores in the refugee camp, assaulted residents and installed surveillance cameras along the section of Israel’s annexation and apartheid wall, which separates the camp from Jerusalem, simultaneously while firing barrages of rubber-coated steel bullets as well as tear gas and concussion grenades.

During the ensuing confrontations, the gun-toting soldiers assaulted and rounded up a resident.

Israeli occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army command
ers have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the occupied West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
