Israeli occupation forces blocked on Friday Palestinian citizens’ access to the outskirts of Jabal Sbaih in the town of Beita south of Nablus, and prevented them from performing the Friday noon prayers. The Jabal Sbaih is threatened with confiscation for the benefit of colonial expansion.
Mahmoud Barham, head of Beita’s municipal council, said Israeli forces prevented worshippers’ access to the area by imposing strict military checkpoints at key intersections to obstruct their movement.
The town of Beita has been subjected to ongoing attacks by Israeli forces and colonists since the illegal establishment of the Aviatar colonial outpost on land appropriated from Palestinian lands atop Jabal Sbaih.
The previous Friday, Israeli forces killed 26-year-old Turkish-American activist, Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, while she was taking part in the anti-colonies peaceful protest organized by Beita residents.
The activist is among 17 others who have been killed in the town since the Aviatar outpost was established in May 2021
.
Residents have been staging weekly rallies in protest of Israeli colonial expansion atop Jabal Sbaih.
