TULKARM: Israeli occupation forces have burned several homes and inflicted extensive destruction to infrastructure, homes and businesses in the Nour Shams refugee camp, east of Tulkarm, during a wide-scale assault that has now been going on for two days.
Nihad Al-Shawish, head of the Nour Shams Popular Committee, described the humanitarian situation in the camp as dire, with the Israeli forces burning and demolishing multiple homes, leading to complete destruction of properties and the displacement of numerous families.
Al-Shawish added that that Israeli occupation forces are preventing civil defense and medical teams from entering the camp to assist those in need.
Furthermore, the forces have been conducting raids on residential and commercial properties, breaking doors and causing panic among residents, particularly affecting children, women, and the elderly.
The Israeli offensive, involving heavy machinery and bulldozers, has also led to a disruption in water supply after the main water line was destro
yed. The attack has severely damaged the camp’s infrastructure, including roads such as Nablus Street and surrounding businesses.
Additionally, Israeli forces have been arresting dozens of young men, taking them to a makeshift interrogation center near the camp, and transferring some to the Nitsani Oz military camp west of the city for further questioning or detention.
At least 16 Palestinians have been killed since late Tuesday evening in an ongoing, wide-scale Israeli military offensive that includes multiple cities, towns and refugee camps in the northern West Bank. The most intense of these raids have been taking place in the Nour Shams, the Tulkarm and the Jenin refugee camps.
