Manama The Jaafari Endowments Council held its annual meeting with the heads of the women’s maatem (community centres) and those in charge of them, in preparation for commemorating Ashoora of the 1446 Hijri year. The meeting was attended by Jaafari Endowments Council officials and members of parliament, Jalila Al Sayed and Basma Mubarak.
Yousif bin Saleh Al Saleh, the Jaafari Endowments Chairman, appreciated the constant directives from His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their support of religious rituals, particularly during Ashoora, and the facilities provided on all levels to seamlessly conduct the commemoration of this occasion.
Al Saleh said that the Kingdom of Bahrain has been accustomed to the commemoration of this religious occasion. He added that women maatem had a key role throughout the year, and particularly during Ashoora.
The Jaafari Endowments Chairman noted that efforts are exerted ann
ually to ensure that all aspects of commemorating Ashoora are fully supported and that activities related to the occasion are held safely and in an organised manner. He said that the council has taken all preparations in coordination with the official authorities and that all concerned departments have been directed to expedite fulfilling the requirements of maatem especially those related to commemorating Ashoora.
An open discussion was held with the participation of Al Saleh and Mohammed Ali Al Hussaini, Director of Jaafari Endowments. Al Saleh briefed the heads of women maatem on the latest updates of their continuous communication with the official authorities, and the outputs of the coordination meeting held with representatives of the relevant official authorities.
