Japan Commends Morocco’s Atlantic Initiatives for African Peace and Prosperity


Japan: Japan lauded on Friday the Royal Atlantic Initiatives for peace, stability, and prosperity on the African continent. In a Joint Communiqu© signed during a video conference by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and his Japanese counterpart, Motegi Toshimitsu, Japan praised Morocco’s efforts to ‘progress African integration, bolster cooperation ties with African countries, as well as strengthen peace, stability, and shared prosperity in the region.’



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Japan welcomed the Atlantic Initiatives launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, namely the “Initiative of Atlantic African States,” the “African Atlantic Gas Pipeline,” and the “Initiative for Sahel Countries’ Access to the Atlantic Ocean.”



This high esteem from Japan, a global economic power and major regional and international player, for the Kingdom’s Initiatives in favor of Africa, undertaken in accordance with the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, confirms the key role of the Kingdom as an indispensable regional and international actor in the promotion of peace, stability, and sustainable development on the African Continent.



Morocco and Japan celebrate, in 2026, the 70th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations, marked throughout their history by friendship, cooperation, and mutual support.
