Manama: Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Board of Trustees Chairman of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, has affirmed that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Kingdom of Bahrain has become a prominent voice of global conscience and an effective advocate of common solidarity.
In this regard, he indicated that the kingdom is leading the way in providing high-end initiatives and contributing to humanitarian work.
In a statement marking the International Day of Conscience, observed worldwide every April 5, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed stressed that there is an urgent need for a global awakening of conscience and a responsible collective stance, warning of the danger of undermining confidence in human solidarity, as a result of international double standards and the escalation of racist and hate speeches.
He pointed out that celebrating the International Day of Conscience, wh
ich carries the name of the Kingdom, confirms Bahrain’s status as the home of peace and fraternity, praising HM the King’s wise approach, which is based on consolidating good morals and noble values, as well as promoting compassion and rapprochement among all human beings.
He underlined the importance of appealing to the human conscience to end the scourges of conflicts and wars, as well as address the problems of hunger and poverty in many parts of the world, noting that the vigilance of the human conscience remains the last resort, and the fortress to confront the emerging crises and direct resources for achieving sustainable development.
The Board of Trustees Chairman of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence said that he is looking forward to creating new mechanisms that unify people’s stances and safeguard rights and freedoms, as well as ensure respect for others, calling for placing the concepts of security, equality, justice and coexistence at the forefront of human priorities, as they
are the foundation for bringing various cultures together.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed indicated that the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence carries the torch of hope and civilisation for the entire humanity, as it calls for goodness, cooperation and development, noting that the centre’s message contributes to stimulating human harmony and promoting values and cultural rapprochement.
He extended thanks and appreciation to people of conscience to help in addressing various ordeals and calamities.
‘Our primary mission is to spread the idea of moderation and combat extremism and bias, to create a more just, peaceful and prosperous world,’ he said.
