Rimini: Morocco, one of the most advanced countries in the region in terms of energy transition, is emerging as a “strategic partner” for European industry, said the International Exhibitions Director and Head of the Green and Technology Division at the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), Alessandra Astolfi.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Astolfi emphasized that Morocco has adopted ambitious policies in recent years by developing strong industrial expertise in renewable energy while ensuring the diversification of its energy mix. She shared these insights with MAP during the 4th edition of the “KEY – Energy Transition Expo,” organized by IEG at the Rimini Exhibition Centre in Italy.
Astolfi highlighted Morocco’s role as a benchmark in the region and Africa for accelerating the energy transition, attributing this status to significant investments and dynamic international cooperation. She further noted that Africa is increasingly important in the global energy transition, given its vast natural resources and national strategies for developing hydrogen.
The fourth edition of Key Energy, held from March 4-6, featured over 150 conferences and events focusing on themes such as finance for energy transition support, decarbonization efficiency, energy storage, and artificial intelligence applied to the energy sector. A notable focus was on Africa, aligned with the Italian government’s Mattei Plan, through the Africa Investment HUB, a space for business meetings and networking with African sectoral associations.
