Morocco’s INDH Highlights Impact of its Women Empowerment Programs at UN CSW70

New york: The experience of Morocco’s National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) in promoting women’s rights and empowerment was presented on Tuesday at a side event organized by the National Union of Moroccan Women (UNFM) under the theme “Access to justice for women victims of violence: a lever for the promotion of rights and development,” on the sidelines of the 70th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70).

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, during the meeting, INDH National Coordinator Wali Mohamed Dardouri illustrated the concrete achievements of the Initiative in the field in favor of women in precarious situations, particularly in disadvantaged areas, according to a press release from INDH. In his speech, Dardouri first highlighted the pivotal role of reception and listening centers as true pillars of community support that provide women in vulnerable situations with multidisciplinary assistance, thereby facilitating their social reintegration and access to t
he justice system, the press release adds.

Quoted in the press release, he emphasized INDH’s role in promoting economic empowerment, particularly through the “Improving Income and Economic Inclusion for Youth” program. This mechanism, he explained, encourages women’s cooperatives and micro-enterprises, offering them an opportunity for economic inclusion. Finally, Dardouri recalled that INDH’s approach is based on major structural levers, such as investments in maternal health infrastructure and support for girls’ education (Dar Taliba and school transportation), which he deems crucial to achieving a sustainable break from the cycle of precariousness.

This conference is part of the active participation of a high-level Moroccan delegation in the 70th session of the CSW in New York, held on March 8-19, 2026. Themed “Ensuring and strengthening access to justice for all women and girls,” this session is an opportunity for the delegation-including the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family and the
INDH National Coordinator -to highlight the Kingdom’s sustained efforts to safeguard women’s rights and their full empowerment, in accordance with the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the press release concludes.
