King Mohammed VI’s Speech Promotes Openness and Dialogue with Morocco’s Partners

Rabat:In a recent speech, King Mohammed VI of Morocco addressed both Houses of Parliament, emphasizing the importance of openness and dialogue with Morocco’s partner countries. The speech was described as a move towards reshaping relations with these nations, focusing on stronger cooperation and mutual respect, according to André Flahaut, Belgian Minister of State.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Flahaut highlighted the King’s call for a renewed partnership with neighboring and European countries, based on political will and voluntary commitment. The speech is particularly significant in the context of current migration tensions, which Flahaut believes should be addressed primarily through a human lens.

The Belgian minister noted the King’s determination to foster cooperation that respects human dignity and avoids exploitation by interest groups or political parties. This approach is seen as crucial for maintaining open relations and preventing the politicization of migration issues.

Flahaut further commented on the speech’s role as a roadmap for Morocco’s priorities, which include strengthening economic and diplomatic ties, and pursuing institutional and social reforms. The King aims to balance economic growth with social and territorial justice and to develop strategic infrastructure across various sectors.

He also emphasized the King’s focus on continuing the progress in building responsive institutions and promoting development that equally benefits all regions and communities, particularly addressing the concerns of young people.
