LaLiga Launches Next Gen Draft International Programme in Salé with Moroccan Football Federation’s Support


Salé: LaLiga’s 2026 Next Gen Draft international programme, designed to detect and develop youth football talent, was launched during a ceremony held on Friday at the Mohammed VI Football Complex.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the programme was initiated by LaLiga and EA Sports, in partnership with EvoSport, and with the support of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). The Next Gen Draft is an international initiative that combines competition, training, and immersive experiences to bring football closer to young people from various cultures and communities worldwide.

Organized in Morocco for the first time, from March 27 to 29, this segment of the programme aims to create real opportunities for the next generation of Moroccan footballers. Speaking to the press, LaLiga’s Head of Sports Projects, Juan Florit, expressed enthusiasm for launching the second edition of the Next Gen Draft in Morocco, a nation known for its football talent. He added, “We expect to be surprised by the quality an
d level of Moroccan players.”

Discussing the Next Gen Draft, Florit emphasized that the initiative is part of LaLiga’s international sporting projects strategy, which has been deployed over the past decade in 60 countries. He highlighted that LaLiga has implemented more than 1,000 sporting projects with international impact at all levels.

Alongside Morocco, the 2026 Next Gen Draft will be held in Mexico, Japan, Nigeria, and China, before culminating in the final phase in Spain. The programme is set to gather nearly 900 young players from around the globe.
