Rabat: The French magazine Le Point has praised His Majesty the King of Morocco as the “Architect of Historic Diplomatic Turning Point,” highlighting his crucial role following the adoption of a pivotal UN resolution. This resolution marks “a major shift for Morocco and the region,” reflecting the King’s leadership in navigating the Sahara issue within a “dynamic of change.”
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Le Point emphasized that the King is unequivocal about Morocco’s position as it enters “the decisive phase of the UN process.” The Security Council resolution has laid down principles aimed at reaching a definitive political solution to the conflict, respecting Morocco’s legitimate rights. The magazine underscores that the Autonomy Initiative, endorsed by nearly 120 countries, has become the “new compass of the UN process.” This initiative is now recognized as the sole framework for resolving the Sahara issue, with substantial backing from 22 European Union member states and three permanent Security Council members, isolating opposition to Autonomy.
As the 50th anniversary of the Green March approaches, Le Point notes that the recent Security Council resolution extends the diplomatic and symbolic legacy of the March, a defining moment for modern Morocco. The resolution, coming half a century later, reinforces Morocco’s diplomatic achievements.
The French weekly also highlights the transformative development occurring in Morocco’s southern provinces under the King’s visionary leadership. These regions have become a hub of development and a cornerstone of regional stability, reflecting the King’s commitment to sustained progress.
