Lower House Speaker Engages with Asian-Pacific Ambassadors on Bilateral Ties


Rabat: The Speaker of the Lower House of Morocco recently convened with ambassadors from the Asia-Pacific region to discuss the strengthening of bilateral and multilateral relations. The discussions, as announced in a press release by the House, centered on the historical ties between Morocco and these countries, which are rooted in cultural proximity and shared concerns. Furthermore, the dialogue emphasized Morocco’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Asia-Pacific nations across various sectors.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the meeting provided a platform to showcase significant projects initiated by Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. These initiatives are designed to foster global solidarity and contribute to international peace and security, while respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states and refraining from interference in their internal affairs.



During the meeting, Talbi Alami addressed the Moroccan Sahara issue, reiterating ongoing support for the Kingdom’s territorial integrity and the autonomy initiative. He called upon the ambassadors to endorse Morocco’s sovereignty over its entire territory.



The gathering also reviewed over six decades of Moroccan parliamentary experience, with discussions focusing on enhancing inter-parliamentary relations. Emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation between legislative bodies at both bilateral and multilateral levels, maintaining parliamentary exchanges, and facilitating visits and expertise sharing on common parliamentary interests.



The meeting was attended by ambassadors from the Philippines, Azerbaijan, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Australia, India, Japan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Indonesia, alongside members of the Lower House.
