Mali’s FM Extends Profound Gratitude to HM the King for Morocco’s Solidarity with Sahel States Alliance


Rabat: The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Mali, Abdoulaye Diop, on Monday extended his profound gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the Kingdom’s steadfast solidarity with the countries of the Alliance of Sahel States.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Diop expressed deep gratitude for being received by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, conveying fraternal greetings and sentiments of brotherhood, solidarity, and friendship from His brothers, Their Excellencies General Assimi Gota, President of the Transition, Head of State of Mali and President of the Confederation of Sahel States, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, Faso’s President, Head of State, and General Abdouramane Tchiani, President of the Republic of Niger, Head of State. This followed the audience granted by the Sovereign to the Foreign Ministers of the three Alliance countries.



The minister noted that the Royal Audience provided an opportunity to express appreciation of the relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and each of the Sahel countries individually, as well as with the Alliance of Sahel States. He highlighted that these relations are continually strengthening.



Diop also conveyed appreciation for the Royal Initiative aimed at enabling Atlantic Ocean access to the three countries, which seeks to diversify sea access and reinforce peace and security. The three ministers expressed their countries’ Heads of State’s appreciation of Morocco’s consistent position towards transition countries, namely Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger. They welcomed the channels of dialogue maintained by the Kingdom to identify solutions and promote relations based on mutual respect.



His Majesty the King reiterated Morocco’s readiness and commitment to strengthening cooperative relations with the Sahel countries, in the service of peace, security, and stability.
