Man Arrested in El Jadida for Alleged Involvement in Voluntary Manslaughter, Drug Trafficking


El Jadida: Policemen of the Casablanca Prefectural Judicial Police arrested on Monday evening, in close coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), an individual who was the subject of dozens of nationwide wanted notices for cases of voluntary manslaughter and trafficking in various types of drugs, including ‘poufa’, cocaine, and psychotropic tablets, a security source said.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the suspect, aged 30, was located and arrested following a security operation conducted in El Jadida, on grounds of precise information provided by the DGST services. The initial investigation revealed that the suspect was involved in trafficking “poufa”, cocaine, and psychotropic drugs in the Khelif douar in the ‘Khiyayta’ region near Berrechid. He was the subject of 49 nationwide wanted notices, including 46 issued by Morocco’s Royal Gendarmerie and 3 issued by the judicial police of the Errahma district in Casablanca and the Settat police headquarters.

k of the alleged offender against the wanted persons database revealed he was also the subject of a wanted persons notice issued by the Royal Gendarmerie for his presumed involvement in an intentional homicide reported on the night of January 11 to 12. This incident was committed following a dispute linked to trafficking narcotics and psychotropic substances.

Searches conducted in connection with this case led to the seizure of large sums of money, suspected to have originated from these illegal criminal activities. The suspect was placed in police custody for further investigation under instructions of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to unravel the full extent of his criminal acts, to identify any potential accomplices, and to locate and seize all proceeds linked to drug trafficking.
