This two-day visit aims to present the region and its various assets and highlight the investment projects completed, scheduled or underway.
In a statement to the press after a meeting with the Director of the Guelmim Oued-Noun Regional Investment Center (CRI), Mourad Kaina, Zdechovsky said that the purpose of this visit is to learn about the progress made in Morocco’s southern provinces and present this development dynamic within the European Union.
“We frequently talk about the strategic partners of the European Union, of which Morocco is one of the best in the North Africa region,” added Zdechovsky, who is also Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Budgetary Control at the European Parliament, noting that the security and stability enjoyed by Morocco encourages business climate.
Zdechovsky, also vice-chairman of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs in the European Parliament, called for more investment in the Guelmim Oued-Noun region, stressing the importance of stable cooperation with Europe, especially with Western and Central European countries.
For her part, Nadia Bouaida, parliamentarian for the Guelmim Oued-Noun region and chairperson of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, National Defense, Islamic Affairs and Moroccan Expatriates in the House of Representatives, said that this meeting was an opportunity for Zdechovsky to learn about the socio-economic and political progress made in the region, as well as the various programs and major projects in several areas, including green hydrogen.
This meeting was also an opportunity to learn about economic, social and political achievements in the southern provinces under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, and to consolidate the partnership and multilateral cooperation between Morocco and the European Union, as well as bilateral cooperation with the Czech Republic.
