Rabat:The non-renewal of Minurso's mandate signifies a pivotal shift in addressing the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, stated Mbarka Bouaida, president of the Guelmim-Oued Noun Regional Council.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Bouaida remarked that the United Nations Security Council's failure to adopt a resolution is effectively a decision for Moroccans. This decision opens avenues for a new phase aimed at reinforcing territorial integrity and fast-tracking development as envisioned by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
Bouaida further noted that the time has come to close the chapter on a dispute that originated during the Cold War and to transition into a phase that aligns with the Sovereign's development agenda. She lauded Morocco's diplomatic strategy under the King's leadership, which is rooted in democratic reforms and societal inclusivity, enhancing Morocco's legitimacy and unity, which now enjoys wide international support.
Expressing optimism about national progress, Bouaida expressed satisfaction with Morocco's entry into a new period focused on reinforcing its territorial integrity and accelerating development under the leadership of His Majesty the King, based on the national constants of God, the Homeland, and the King.
