London:With the UN Security Council's decision not to renew the Minurso mandate, British Member of Parliament Andrew Murrison has stated that the Moroccan autonomy plan is now the sole viable option for resolving the Sahara dispute.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Murrison emphasized the importance of the Moroccan Autonomy Plan, urging all parties involved to support it. He highlighted the backing of the United Kingdom and France, along with nine other Security Council members, for a draft resolution on the Sahara presented by the United States.
Murrison also commented on Russia's actions, noting that its counter-resolution was anticipated and ultimately unsuccessful, leading to the conclusion of MINURSO's mission. The British MP praised the United Kingdom and France for their support of the US resolution at the United Nations.
