Rabat: Initial findings of the investigation indicate that a police brigadier, assigned to the biker brigade, committed voluntary manslaughter using his service weapon against a woman he was accompanying aboard a private vehicle for reasons that still remain to be determined, according to a statement by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, during the intervention of the police patrol dispatched for his arrest, the officer in question attempted to flee by firing two shots, without causing injury to any police officer, before attempting to take his own life by firing a shot that inflicted a severe head injury.
The officer was admitted to intensive care in a critical state, while the victim’s body was submitted to the morgue for autopsy.
