Rabat: Speaker of Morocco’s House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami, engaged in discussions with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, on Wednesday in Rabat, focusing on advancing parliamentary cooperation between the two nations. The meeting was also attended by Serbia’s Ambassador in Rabat, Ivan Bauer, where both parties shared perspectives on several issues of mutual parliamentary interest.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Talbi El Alami praised the strong bilateral relations existing between Morocco and Serbia across various sectors and acknowledged Serbia’s supportive stance regarding Morocco’s territorial integrity. He emphasized that the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco as a resolution to the ongoing conflict around the Moroccan Sahara has garnered substantial international backing.
Talbi El Alami also highlighted several strategic initiatives spearheaded by His Majesty King Mohammed VI aimed at fostering development in Africa. These initiatives
include the Morocco-Nigeria gas pipeline project and the Atlantic Initiative, which seeks to provide Sahel countries with access to the Atlantic Ocean. Furthermore, he mentioned numerous agreements and projects designed to bolster South-South cooperation with countries across the African continent.
In a press statement, Ana Brnabic, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, remarked that her visit signifies the enduring and robust friendship between Serbia and Morocco, particularly in terms of parliamentary relations. She commended the significant development experienced by Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
Brnabic, who is leading a substantial parliamentary delegation on an official visit to Morocco, expressed her appreciation for Morocco’s support of Serbia’s territorial integrity. She also expressed her aspirations for her visit to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries, stressing the crucial role of legislative bodies in fostering continu
ous dialogue and communication to achieve this goal.
