New York:Relations between Morocco and Spain continue to be grounded in the principles outlined in the Joint Declaration of April 2022. This declaration was formed after discussions between King Mohammed VI of Morocco and Pedro S¡nchez, President of the Spanish Government, according to Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Bourita emphasized that the principles include partnership, mutual respect, and dialogue, aiming to avoid faits accomplis and unexpected actions. These principles were reaffirmed during talks with his Spanish counterpart, Jos© Manuel Albares, at the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Bourita highlighted the importance of focusing on common interests and managing areas of disagreement through dialogue and consultation. He underscored that there are numerous issues where both countries agree and can advance, advocating for a spirit of good-neighborliness and cooperation to guide discussions on contentious topics.
