Rabat: Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi held talks on Thursday in Rabat with Spain’s Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with Parliament, F©lix Bola±os, focusing on ways to strengthen cooperation and partnership within the judicial system. The discussions highlighted a shared commitment to developing bilateral cooperation in the legal and judicial fields.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the talks provided an opportunity to discuss ways to enhance coordination mechanisms and the exchange of expertise to meet current challenges and keep pace with the rapid transformations affecting the justice sector. Both parties examined prospects for expanding areas of partnership to cover various aspects of judicial cooperation, particularly in relation to civil and criminal matters, strengthening the handling of cross-border cases, and supporting judicial assistance mechanisms between the two countries.
As part of preparations for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, the Minister of Justice announced that a tripartite meeting, also involving Portugal’s Minister of Justice, will be held to sign an agreement governing relations between the three countries that will co-host the tournament. F©lix Bola±os remarked that this meeting further demonstrates the friendship between Morocco and Spain.
At the conclusion of their discussions, both parties reaffirmed the strength of the relations between Morocco and Spain, as well as their shared determination to further strengthen and deepen them, in the mutual interest of both countries and in support of efforts to develop the judicial system at the regional and international levels.
