Rabat: The method used by the suspects, namely the owner of an employment agency, a notary, and two intermediaries, was to lure victims with fake employment contracts abroad, provided by the agency managed by the main suspect, in exchange for sums of money of up to MAD 50,000.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, adding that these fake employment contracts were signed under the supervision of the arrested notary.
Simultaneous security operations led to the arrest of suspects in the cities of Fez, Meknes, Sefrou, and Imouzzer, while searches led to the seizure of copies of false employment contracts, bank transfer slips presumably originating from the victims, who number in the dozens, as well as identity documents, passports, computer equipment, and stamps used in this criminal activity, according to reports.
The defendants have been placed in police custody awaiting the judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to shed light on the circumstances of this case and identify all criminal charges brought against them, the same source emphasizes.
