Morocco-CEMAC Parliamentary Economic Forum Highlights Strengthened Partnership Efforts

Laayoune: The Parliamentary Economic Forum Morocco-CEMAC reflects a strong willingness to boost the bonds of friendship and partnership between Central African countries and Morocco, said the President of the Parliament of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC), ‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬°variste Ngamana, on Friday in Laayoune. Speaking at the opening session of the Parliamentary Forum on economic cooperation between Morocco and the CEMAC Parliament, Ngamana stated that this Forum is the “result of a threefold determination”-that of the House of Councillors, the CEMAC Parliament, and the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM)-to provide parliamentary support to the economic relations uniting the Kingdom and the countries of the Central African Community.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Ngamana emphasized that the Forum aims to serve as a platform for dialogue, exchange, and cooperation between political and economic stakeholders from the Kingdom of Morocco and CEMAC member states. The goal is to highlight development and economic integration opportunities and explore ways to intensify trade between the two sides through mutual visits, economic missions, and bilateral business forums.

Ngamana expressed the hope that the Forum would contribute to launching initiatives, programs, and projects with a common regional dimension, as well as establishing multidimensional partnerships in vital areas of shared interest. He cited energy, renewable energies, maritime fishing, and infrastructure development as fields offering significant opportunities for cooperation and knowledge transfer.

“The creation of training programs for executives and the establishment of close cooperation to support businesses in joint development projects are capable of achieving the economic integration sought by African countries, as part of the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement, which aligns with the visionary outlook of His Majesty King Mohammed VI,” he observed.

He added that the thematic sessions of this Forum highlight the Kingdom’s rich experience and will help identify effective cooperation projects with CEMAC countries. Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this Forum aims to establish an institutional platform for dialogue and exchange on ways to strengthen economic cooperation and develop trade between the Kingdom and the member countries of CEMAC.
