Helsinki: Morocco has emerged as a pivotal partner for Europe and Finland, as highlighted by Finland’s Foreign Minister at a joint press briefing with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita. Discussions between the two diplomats have underscored the strengthening ties between Rabat and Helsinki since Bourita’s visit to Finland in August 2024, with significant prospects for collaboration in areas such as artificial intelligence, ICT infrastructure, and the deployment of 5G technology.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the Finnish Foreign Minister revealed that their talks also delved into various pressing issues related to foreign policy and security. These included the ongoing situations in the Middle East, the Sahel, Sudan, and the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Additionally, both parties expressed their approval of the recent adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2797. They reiterated their commitment to supporting the UN Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy in their efforts to achieve a just, lasting, and mutually acceptable political resolution to the Moroccan Sahara conflict.
