Morocco Positioned to Enhance Peace and Prosperity in MENA Region: Panamanian Foreign Minister

Rabat: Morocco is strategically positioned to contribute significantly to the promotion of peace and prosperity across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, according to Panamanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Javier Martnez-Acha V¡squez. During a working visit to the Kingdom, the Panamanian Foreign Minister highlighted Morocco’s pivotal role in fostering regional stability at a joint press briefing with Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Martnez-Acha V¡squez emphasized the positive development regarding the Moroccan Sahara issue, driven by the efforts of HM King Mohammed VI. As Panama holds a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council, the country views Morocco’s autonomy initiative as ‘the most serious, credible and realistic basis’ for resolving the regional dispute. He asserted that this initiative should serve as the singular solution for the future.

Further, the Panamanian Minister expressed admiration for the robust friendship and cooperation between Morocco and Panama, expressing a keen interest in further bolstering these relations. He noted that the relationship between the two nations is grounded in principles of mutual respect, trust, and dialogue, which have been cultivated over the years.

In addition, Martnez-Acha V¡squez underscored the importance of strengthening cultural links between the citizens of Morocco and Panama, who share common values of dialogue and peace. He remarked that the bilateral relations founded on sincere and solid friendship between the two countries serve as an exemplary model for achieving a more balanced, humane, and peaceful global community.
