Morocco Set to Compete in FIA Motorsport Games in Spain

Rabat – Morocco is gearing up to participate in the highly prestigious FIA Motorsport Games, scheduled for October 23 to 27 in Spain’s Valencia, the Royal Moroccan Motor Sports Federation (FRMSA) announced on Thursday. This event, according to a press release, is considered to be the Olympic Games of motor sports.

These games are set to bring together nearly 100 countries for its 3rd edition, where competitors will compete in 26 disciplines, including karting, rallying, cross-country, drifting, slalom and e-sport. Morocco will be represented at the FIA Motorsport Games by three athletes, namely Nahyl El Gaoudi, the reigning MENA regional karting champion, Ismail Oublal in the F4 e-sport category, and Hamada Erquizi in GT e-sport.

The Moroccan federation sees this participation as a continuation of the national karting team’s resounding success, after being crowned champions of the MENA Nations Cup in Qatar in December 2023. It also aims to make the FIA Motorsport Games a showcase for motorsport fans in Mor
occo, with a view to increasing its membership base, adds the federal body.

Over the years, the FIA Motorsport Games have become a global event. The first edition in Rome saw the 18 participating countries compete in six disciplines. In Marseilles in 2022, 72 nations took part. This year in Valencia, the FIA hopes to give the event a truly Olympic dimension, with almost 1,000 athletes taking part.
