Morocco to Participate in World Para-Athletics Championships in Paris

The Moroccan national team is set to participate in the upcoming World Para-Athletics Championships in Paris from July 8 to 17.

The championships will witness the presence of 1,700 athletes representing 120 countries, including Morocco. The Moroccan team will comprise 18 talented athletes, both men and women, as announced in a press release by the Royal Moroccan Federation of Sports for Disabled (FRMSPSH).

Being recognized as the second most significant global competition for athletes with disabilities, following the Paralympic Games, this event is under the authority of the international organization World Para Athletics.

The press release further highlights that with Paris-2024 being just a year away, the FRMSPSH is approaching the championships in Paris with high aspirations and determination.

According to the same source, these games are considered to be a full-scale test prior to the 2024 Paralympic Games.

The Moroccan delegation heading for Paris includes Ayoub Sadni (T47/400m), Zakariae Derhem (F33/weight throw), Saida Amoudi (F34/weight throw), Youssra Karim (F41/discus throw), Fouzia El Kassioui (F33/weight throw), Zakariae Ez Zouhri (F44/javelin throw), Hayat El Garaa (F41/discus throw) and Norelhouda El Kaoui (F55/discus throw).

It also includes Hind Frioua (F31/Club throw), Oumaima Oubraym (F32/Club throw), Azeddine Nouiri (F34/weight throw), Redouane Thabit (F40/weight throw), Abdelilah Gani (F53/weight throw), Nasri Yamani (T64/long jump), Fatima Ezzahra El Idrissi (T12/1500m), Oussama Hmimsa (T13/1500m), Moncef Bouja (T12/100m) and Anass Sikouk (T36/100m).
