Rabat: The Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform announced on Friday that Morocco will revert to standard time (GMT) on Sunday, September 20, at 2 a.m., by setting the clock back 60 minutes.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the Ministry clarified that this decision aligns with the provisions of Decree No. 2.26.530, issued on June 25, 2026, which pertains to standard time. This particular decree’s first article mandates the return to the standard time as delineated under Chapter I of Royal Decree No. 455.67, issued on June 2, 1967, concerning standard time.

The press release further specifies that, “Pursuant to Article 2 of the aforementioned decree, Decree No. 2.18.855, issued on October 26, 2018, concerning legal time, is hereby repealed as of the date specified above.” This change marks the Kingdom’s official transition back to GMT, impacting various sectors and daily activities across Morocco.
