Rabat – Director-General of National Security (DGSN) and Territorial Surveillance (DGST), Mr. Abdellatif Hammouchi, signed, on Monday in Abu Dhabi, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between DGSN, represented by the Royal Institute of Police, and the General Command of the Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the Saif Bin Zayed Academy ?for Security and Policing Sciences, an agreement that will pave the way for implementing joint training programs and advanced internships in various police fields.
This agreement also provides for exchanging expertise and practical experience, as well as benefiting from the specialization capacities of the Moroccan police and its counterpart at the General Command of the Abu Dhabi Police, and exploiting them to promote the qualification of security personnel and to reinforce their skills, in addition to consolidating joint cooperation in higher studies in police, security and legal sciences.
The DGSN-DGST spokesman, Controller General Boubker Sabik, stressed that this MoU is t
he fruit of a joint and lasting cooperation between the two parties, with the aim of exchanging expertise in the fields of police officer training and internships, as well as accessing police academies in both countries to promote security skills in the various police, scientific and legal specialties.
The agreement is intended to foster the emergence of a new generation of highly qualified police agents, open to comparative experience and capable of meeting future challenges in the security field in its global sense, he added.
This memorandum of understanding is in line with the High Guidelines of HM King Mohammed VI, who has been providing this security institution with the necessary means to fulfill its national and professional duties under the best conditions.
In 2016, HM the King had, in His Throne Speech, called on the government to provide the Security Administration with the necessary human and financial resources to properly fulfill its duties.
The Sovereign also stressed the importance of coord
ination and cooperation between the Kingdom’s external security services.
