Rabat: First President of the Court of Cassation and President Delegate of Morocco’s Supreme Council of the Judicial Power (CSPJ), Mohamed Abdennabaoui, held talks in Rabat on Monday with President of the Austrian Supreme Court Georg Kodek, who is currently on a visit to the Kingdom at the head of a high-level judicial delegation.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Kodek described his discussions with Abdennabaoui as “very fruitful,” expressing his wish to deepen judicial cooperation and pursue the exchange of expertise and experience between the two countries’ courts.
Head of Training and Cooperation at CSPJ, Amal Lamniai, noted that the Austrian delegation’s three-day visit aims at furthering the positive and special momentum of relations between the two judicial institutions. This visit is framed within the memorandum of understanding signed in 2022 between the CSPJ and the Austrian Supreme Court.
The visit also strives to bolster bilateral relations and deepen knowledge of the judicial experience of both countries. It presents an opportunity to showcase the unique Moroccan experience in terms of the independence of the judicial power and the Kingdom’s accomplishments in the field of justice at the institutional level, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
Last year, Abdennabaoui, accompanied by a delegation of senior CSPJ officials, paid an official visit to Austria’s judicial institutions at the invitation of the President of the Supreme Court.
