Rabat: Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami met on Monday in Rabat with a Mexican parliamentary delegation led by Deputy Pedro Haces Barba, Coordinator of Political Affairs in the Mexican Chamber of Deputies, currently on a working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco at the invitation of the Moroccan Labor Union (UMT) Group in the House of Councillors.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Talbi Alami praised the historic diplomatic relations between Morocco and Mexico and expressed his hope that this visit would breathe new life into bilateral relations, particularly at the parliamentary level. He recalled the working visit he made to Mexico accompanied by presidents of the parliamentary groups and associations in February 2025, as noted in a press release from the House of Representatives.
Talbi Alami also reviewed Morocco’s parliamentary experience, which spans over 60 years, including the institutional reforms and major projects undertaken by the Kingdom under the leadership of His
Majesty King Mohammed VI.
Mexican Deputy Pedro Haces Barba noted that this visit marks a new phase in strengthening bilateral relations between Mexico and Morocco, which is likely to contribute to consolidating parliamentary cooperation and fostering closer ties between the two countries.
The Mexican parliamentary delegation included representatives Maiella Gómez Maldonado, Julia Olguín, Mónica Nemer, and Sandra Anaya, as well as representatives Pedro Haces Lago and Erik Osornio. The meeting was attended by President of the UMT Group in the House of Councillors Noureddine Salik, Mexican Ambassador to Morocco Mabel Gómez Oliver, and several officials and administrative executives from both sides.
