Rabat: Morocco’s Policy Center for the New South (PCNS) and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Rabat to deepen their academic collaboration. The agreement was signed by PCNS Executive President Karim El Aynaoui and CASS President Xiang GAO, with an official Chinese delegation and members of the PCNS leadership team in attendance. The MoU reflects a shared commitment to fostering deeper academic collaboration between Morocco and China.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the MoU aims to build stronger bridges between researchers from both institutions on themes such as China, China-Morocco relations, and Africa-China studies. Key areas of cooperation include joint research projects and co-publications, staff exchanges and capacity-building programs, exchange of scientific materials and information, co-organization of thematic seminars and conferences, and exploration of new academic partnership formats.
The MoU will remain in effect for an in
itial period of two years, with the possibility of extension upon mutual agreement. This partnership represents a significant step forward in strengthening academic ties between Morocco and China and paves the way for sustained and meaningful cooperation in the years to come.
