Morocco’s Permanent Mission to AU Honors Faki’s Work as Two Terms AUC Chairperson


Addis Ababa: The Kingdom’s Permanent Mission to the African Union (AU) paid tribute to the work of Moussa Faki Mahamat during his two terms at the head of the AU Commission (AUC).



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, during a courtesy meeting with the outgoing AUC Chairperson following the 38th Ordinary Summit of AU Heads of State and Government, Morocco’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the AU and UNECA Mohamed Arrouchi praised Faki’s commitment to the African continent over the past eight years, and his contribution to strengthening Africa’s unity and influence on the international stage.



In this respect, Arrouchi recalled the major initiatives launched over the past eight years at AU level, such as the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), AU’s institutional reforms and strengthening peace and security mechanisms.
