Morocco’s Royal Navy assists 58 irregular migrants

Rabat, A Moroccan Royal Navy coast guard unit conducting a maritime patrol mission off the coast of Tarfaya on Tuesday, provided assistance to 58 individuals attempting irregular migration.

The group included 12 women and two minors, who were aboard a makeshift boat located 50 km from Akhfenir, Maghreb Arabe Press (MAP) reported.

The individuals, hailing from sub-Saharan Africa, received initial medical care on board before being safely transported to the port of Tarfaya on the same day, where they were handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the standard administrative procedures.
