Munich: Morocco’s Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, held bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the 61st Munich Security Conference (MSC-2025), held in the Bavarian capital on February 14-16, 2025.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Benali engaged in talks with the Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Celeste Saulo. The discussions concentrated on exchanging and enhancing experiences, bolstering early warning systems, and adopting a more proactive approach in these areas. Additionally, they explored the development of the corridor concept in the energy sector. Benali highlighted that Morocco is the only African country interconnected with Europe in terms of energy, logistics, and culture, playing a crucial role in the global energy transition.

Benali also met with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Member of the Council of Ministers, and Climate Envoy, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir. This meeting facilitated discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields, primarily energy and sustainable development. These discussions align with the High Guidelines of the two countries’ rulers, His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdelaziz Al Saud.
