Occupation forces erect iron gate at entrance to town west of Hebron

HEBRON: The Israeli occupation forces Tuesday erected an iron gate at the entrance to the town of Tarqumiyah west of Hebron, in the southern occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

Sources said that Israeli forces installed an iron gate at the main entrance that connects the town with the bypass road near the Tarqumiyah Israeli military checkpoint.

This entrance is considered a vital and single access point to the industrial zone in Tarqumiyah. The installment of the gate will increase the suffering of citizens, and affect the movement of goods and trucks through the checkpoint.

The town has been subjected to continuous military restrictions and closures, including the blocking of the Beit Kahl bridge that connects the town to Hebron, the 10-month-long closure of the entrance to the town of Idna and the roundabout street, as well as the closure of the Tarqumiyah military checkpoint.
