RAMALLAH: Israeli occupation detained 12 Palestinians, including a child and former detainees, in a series of raids across the occupied West Bank over the last 24 hours, according to local sources.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) and the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission reported in a joint statement that the total number of detentions since the beginning of the ongoing Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023, has exceeded 11,000, affecting all segments of Palestinian society.
The report also highlighted the detention of numerous Palestinian workers and thousands from Gaza, with many still unaccounted for due to ongoing enforced disappearances.
The organizations noted that the sustained detention campaigns have been accompanied by incidents of extrajudicial killings, direct gunfire prior to arrests, severe physical abuse, and intensive field interrogations.
Reports also detail the use of police dogs, human shields, and hostages during these operations. Widespread destruction of homes
, confiscation of property, vehicles, money, gold, and electronic devices has also been documented, alongside the demolition and blasting of homes belonging to prisoners.
