The Israeli occupation forces detained one man while dozens suffocated from inhaling tear gas during confrontations in the town of Beit Ummar, north of the southern West Bank city of Hebron. Activist Mohammad Awad told WAFA that soldiers detained a 19 years old Palestinian youth after beating him near the entrance to the town. The soldiers also fired live bullets and tear gas canisters at people and their homes at the entrance to the town, which resulted in dozens of suffocation cases. In addition, the occupation forces closed the iron gate at the main entrance to the town, prevented people from moving, and brieflty held the activist Awad in an attempt to prevent him from documenting their attacks on people.
