Palestinian environment authority, customs police stop Israeli truck from unloading used tires in a West Bank city

The Palestinian Environmental Quality Authority, in cooperation with the customs police in the northern West Bank Qalqilya Governorate, today prevented an Israeli truck from dumping its load of used and damaged tires in Qalqilya city limits and turned it back. The Environmental Quality Authority said in a press statement that the truck was seized in cooperation with the customs police while it was trying to enter Qalqilya Governorate. It warned that Israel tries to dump its environmentally hazardous waste in the Palestinian territories, stressing that it is a national duty to stop Israeli violations against the Palestinian environment.
