Paris Paralympics: Najwa Awane, Hicham Lamlas Named Morocco’s Flag-Bearers

Paris - Wheelchair tennis champion Najwa Awane and cecifoot player Hicham Lamlas will be the national delegation's flag-bearers at the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games to be held in Paris on Wednesday evening, the Royal Moroccan Sports Federation for the Disabled has announced. Morocco is represented to these Games with a delegation of 38 athletes (24 men and 14 women) in the athletics events (motor and visual impairment), wheelchair tennis, para powerlifting, para taekwondo, para road cycling and cecifoot. Paralympic Games' opening ceremony will begin at 8.00 p.m. on a route linking Paris' Avenue des Champs-Elysées to the Place de la Concorde. These two emblematic venues in the capital will welcome 4,400 Paralympic athletes representing 184 delegations, who will celebrate the kick-off of 11 days in competition starting on Thursday, August 29.
