Peruvian Congress Affirms Backing for Morocco’s Territorial Integrity and Autonomy Plan


Rabat: The Speaker of the Congress of the Republic of Peru, Eduardo Salhuana Cavides, emphasized Peru’s support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco regarding the Moroccan Sahara issue. This declaration was made during his meeting with Rachid Talbi El Alami, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Morocco.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Salhuana Cavides praised the cooperative relations and longstanding friendship between Peru and Morocco. He acknowledged shared values such as democracy, human rights, freedom advocacy, and a commitment to peace and stability. The press release from the Lower House highlighted these remarks.



Additionally, Salhuana Cavides expressed Peru’s desire to learn from Morocco’s experience and leadership in various sectors where the Kingdom has become exemplary under the guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.



Talbi El Alami, in response, conveyed gratitude for the Peruvian Congress’s supportive stance on Morocco’s territorial integrity and the autonomy proposal aimed at resolving the Moroccan Sahara conflict. He also highlighted the significant development projects initiated in Morocco under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, particularly those transforming the southern provinces.
